Optimising your FordEtis

Hardware

The current Ford minimum recommended hardware specification is:

  • Processor: Pentium 4 2.0Ghz
  • Memory: 256 Megabytes
  • Hard disk space: 40 Gigabytes
  • DVD-Rom: 4x speed or greater
  • Monitor: Colour, 17", 1024 x 768 resolution or higher
  • Graphics Adapter: 32 Bit SVGA
  • Network Adapter: 10/100 Base-T Ethernet

This approximates to the current industry standard. Similar specification machines are currently available for purchase at commercial retail outlets.

Software

CDS applications are currently supported under the following operating systems:

  1. Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
  2. Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Windows XP Professional

This is currently the CDS recommended operating system. It is now fully CDS certified with the exception of the BCM (issues with Windows XP) and Telepartner (not fully tested on Windows XP) applications. Currently development is planned to ensure that both these applications function correctly under Windows XP.

Browser Support

Dealer Systems applications are currently only supported under Internet Explorer 6 SP1

There are many versions and releases of Microsoft's Internet Explorer. It's important to make sure that you have a Dealer Systems certified version to ensure the correct functionality of all Dealer Systems applications. If you are not sure about what version of Internet Explorer you're running, you may click on this link to find out.

The latest Dealer Systems certified version of Internet Explorer, currently IE6 SP1, can be downloaded and installed from the Microsoft Windows Update web site.
